Dhaka, April 19 -- Broadband users will now receive 10 Mbps internet speed for Tk 500, instead of the previous 5 Mbps, according to Md Emdadul Hoque, president of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB).
Emdadul made the announcement on Saturday during a roundtable discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing internet services, organised by the Telecom and Technology Reporters Network, Bangladesh (TRNB) at the BTRC Auditorium in Dhaka's Agargaon.
Reading from a written statement, Emdadul said that the new speed upgrade would take effect immediately.
"Starting today [Saturday], customers will get 10 Mbps instead of 5 Mbps."
