Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- A British specialist physician has arrived in Dhaka to join the treatment team overseeing the care of BNP chief Khaleda Zia, who remains in critical condition at Evercare Hospital.

BNP spokesman Shairul Kabir Khan said Dr Richard Beale from The London Clinic landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:20am on Wednesday.

He is expected to visit Evercare Hospital later in the day after checking into his hotel.

Khaleda has been hospitalised since Nov 23. Her condition worsened following a severe lung infection, and doctors transferred her to the Critical Care Unit on Nov 27 for intensive monitoring.
