Dhaka, Dec. 1 -- A Dhaka court has convicted British MP Tulip Siddiq in a corruption case related to the allotment of a 10-katha plot in Purbachal and sentenced her to two years in prison.
On Monday, Judge Rabiul Alam of the Special Judge's Court delivered the verdict in the case, which also involved Tulip's mother, Sheikh Rehana, who was sentenced to seven years in prison.
Tulip's aunt, ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was sentenced to five years along with the other defendants in the case.
