Dhaka, May 27 -- Selim RF Hussain, managing director and CEO of BRAC Bank PLC, has resigned from his position.

He submitted his resignation to the bank's board of directors on Tuesday and the body has accepted it. Subsequently, the board will forward his letter to Bangladesh Bank.

Selim confirmed his resignation to bdnews24.com, saying: "There was no fit state here to continue working. That's why I resigned. I don't want to comment further on this matter."

He has been serving as the bank's managing director and CEO since 2015. His tenure as managing director was supposed to continue until March 2026.
