Dhaka, Dec. 19 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed at several key locations in Dhaka to help maintain law and order ahead of the arrival of slain political activist Sharif Osman Hadi's body from Singapore.

In a statement issued on Friday, the BGB announced the deployment of troopers in the airport area, Karwan Bazar, the Hotel InterContinental area and other important points across the city.

The deployment comes amid heightened security concerns following recent protests and incidents of violence in the capital triggered by the death of Hadi, the convenor of Inqilab Moncho who was shot in the Bijoynagar area on Dec 12.
