Dhaka, June 21 -- BNP Standing Committee member AZM Zahid Hossain has said the party is committed to restoring the people's rights through elections without delay and is not interested in revisiting the past.
Speaking at an event at the National Press Club on Saturday, Zahid said the "future of Bangladesh" depends on returning the people their rights as soon as possible.
"Our leader (Tarique Rahman) had initially spoken of December, later February, as a possible time for elections," he said.
"We don't want to look back. We are the party of Ziaur Rahman, we are the party of Khaleda Zia, and our leader is Tarique Rahman. We are focused on the future," he added.
