Dhaka, Feb. 13 -- BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has accused Jamaat-e-Islami of engaging in nothing but "hypocrisy".

"BNP never supported Jamaat-e-Islami. Sheikh Mujib's government banned Jamaat. It was during the BNP's tenure that they got the opportunity to engage in politics in this country," Rizvi said.

"But we have always seen that this party has no other agenda. It has only one trait - hypocrisy, he said..

"Apart from hypocrisy, Jamaat has done nothing else," he added.

He made these remarks on Wednesday afternoon at a memorial event for Abdul Wahed Mondal at Taherpur High School field in Bagmara Upazila of Rajshahi.
