Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- Mirza Abbas, the BNP-nominated candidate for the Dhaka-8 constituency, has declared assets worth Tk 686.7 million in his affidavit submitted for the 13th parliamentary election.

Abbas, a former minister and a former mayor of undivided Dhaka, listed his sources of income as rental earnings, bank deposits, savings instruments and investments in the stock market.

According to the affidavit, his annual income stands at more than Tk 92.6 million. Although he described his profession as business, the filing shows he reported no income from business activities.
