Dhaka, Nov. 18 -- The BNP has instructed its party leaders and activists not to hold any kind of event or celebration for Tarique Rahman's birthday this year.
In a media statement on Tuesday night, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said the party's acting chairman turns a year older on Nov 20, and no cakes, posters, banners or discussion events may be organised to mark the occasion.
The instruction urges party leaders across Dhaka and elsewhere not to breach the restriction.
Tarique, elder son of late president Ziaur Rahman and former prime minister Khaleda Zia, was born on Nov 20, 1965.
