Dhaka, Nov. 29 -- A scuffle and bomb blast erupted between two BNP factions in Rajshahi City's Ward No. 4.

Police said the incident took place around 7pm on Friday.

Witnesses said the clash followed a preparatory election meeting at the ward BNP office.

Former councillor Ruhul Amin Tunu attended as a senior BNP leader, prompting Ward President Rakib Uddin Tutul to express anger over his presence. Tutul and his supporters left the meeting shouting slogans, sparking the confrontation.

Shortly after Tutul left, 30 to 40 people armed with sticks attacked the office, and a crude bomb was detonated outside.

Tunu said he had been temporarily expelled for contesting the last city election, but the high command lifted the expulsion on Nov 24....
