Dhaka, May 5 -- BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia is returning home after four months of medical treatment in London, as party activists gathered in large numbers at Heathrow Airport to see her off.

At 2:10pm local time on Monday, the former prime minister departed from her elder son Tarique Rahman's residence for the airport.

Tarique, the BNP's acting chairman, personally drove his mother to the airport, confirmed Khaleda's personal physician Prof AZM Zahid Hossain.

He added that Khaleda was seated in the front passenger seat beside her son.

Also accompanying them in the car were her daughters-in-law Zubaida Rahman, Syeda Shamila Rahman, and Tarique's daughter Zaima Rahman.
