Dhaka, Dec. 28 -- Nomination papers for BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman have been collected for the Dhaka-17 constituency ahead of the 13th national election.
The papers were picked up on Sunday morning from the office of the Dhaka Divisional Commissioner in Segunbagicha by BNP chairperson's aide ABM Abdus Sattar, according to the party's media cell.
The move follows the BNP's recent announcement that Tarique would contest the election from Dhaka-17 in addition to Bogura-6, marking a shift from the party's earlier stance that only BNP chief and former prime minister Khaleda Zia would run in more than one constituency.
