Dhaka, Jan. 7 -- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has appointed three retired army officers as directors in the security team of its acting chairman Tarique Rahman.
The appointments were announced in a press release signed on Tuesday night by the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
According to the statement, retired major Mohammad Shafawat Ullah has been appointed Director (Security), retired major Mainul Hossain as Director (Protocol), and retired captain Md Gani Ul Azam as Director (Coordination) in Tarique's security team.
Earlier, ahead of his return to Bangladesh from London, BNP appointed retired brigadier general AKM Shamsul Islam as chief of his security team.
