Dhaka, Dec. 4 -- The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has nominated 36 more candidates to participate in the next national elections.
Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the nominations at a press conference on Thursday at the office of BNP's chairperson in Gulshan.
On Nov 3, the BNP had released its preliminary list of 237 candidates in the first phase. A day later, the name of the candidate announced for the Madaripur-1 constituency was suspended.
The party has so far announced candidates for 272 constituencies, leaving 28 seats still without any nomination.
Fakhrul said candidates in the vacant seats would be announced on time.
