Dhaka, Nov. 18 -- Police have arrested Ariful Islam Joarder Titu, assistant professor at the Cardiology Department of Bangladesh Medical University (BMU), on charges of vandalising and setting fire to a car during the July Uprising.
Shahbagh Police chief Md Khalid Mansur said he was arrested at his workplace on Tuesday.
When Titu went to his workplace, other doctors surrounded him on charges of financing the Awami League, which is banned from all sorts of political activities.
Officer Mansur said, "We interrogated him and found his involvement in vandalising and burning cars during the July Uprising. Later, he was arrested and sent to court."
