Dhaka, April 18 -- Police have recovered the blood-soaked bodies of two children who were siblings from a flat at a multi-storey building in Gazipur's Tongi.

The victims, Maliha, 6, and Abdullah, 4, were found inside a third-floor apartment of the eight-storey building owned by Sanowar Mia in the Tech area of Rupban in Arichpur on Friday, according to Faridul Islam, chief of Tongi East Police Station.

The children were the daughter and son of Abdul Baten Mia, a resident of Tatuakandi village in Brahmanbaria, the officer said.

Baten, who is involved in the transport business, and his family, including his wife Saleha Begum and mother, live in the flat.
