Dhaka, June 27 -- A Biman Bangladesh flight carrying 154 passengers from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka to Singapore has made an emergency landing after the aircraft hit a bird.

Biman spokesman ABM Raoshan Kabir said, "The flight to Singapore suffered a bird hit soon after takeoff. It then returned. The passengers on the flight will head to Singapore on another flight at 1:15pm. The flight hit by the bird is undergoing maintenance."

The airport authorities said in a statement that an international flight (BG-584) of a Boeing 737-800 model had taken off from Dhaka on its way to Singapore.
