Dhaka, March 21 -- A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight on the Dhaka-London-Dhaka route has turned back mid-flight due to the power outage at London's Heathrow Airport.

Group Captain Muhammed Kamrul Islam, executive director of Shahjalal International Airport, confirmed the news on Friday afternoon.

Flight BG-201 set off from Dhaka for London at 8:42am. It landed at Sylhet's Osmani International Airport at 9:06am. It then set off for London again at 10:46am.

At 1:45pm, it landed again at Shahjalal International Airport as the situation at Heathrow had yet to normalise.
