India, July 15 -- Police have arrested the prime suspect in the murder of a mother and her two children in Mymensingh's Bhaluka Upazila.

Mymensingh police Kazi Akhtar Ul Alam said the suspect Nazrul Islam was detained on Tuesday near Gazipur's Joydebpur Railway Station.

On Monday, police recovered the bodies of Moyna Akter, 25, their daughter Raisa Akter, 7, and son Nirab Hossain, 2, from their rented home in Ponashail. All three had their throats slit.

Nazrul, who is Moyna's husband Rafiqul Islam's younger brother, had been living with the family and went missing following the incident.

Moyna's brother Zahirul Islam filed a murder case at the Bhaluka Model Police Station against Nazrul and several unnamed people on Monday night.
