Dhaka, Oct. 30 -- Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has taken 107 Rohingya, including women and children, who roamed outside their camps into custody and has sent them back to refugee camps in Cox's Bazar' Teknaf.

In a press statement issued in the early hours of Thursday, Lt Col Ashikur Rahman, commander of BGB's Teknaf-2 Battalion, said that the Rohingya were taken into custody following raids at the Damdamiya checkpost on the Cox's Bazar-Teknaf Road from morning to night.

He said, "Recently, there has been an increase in the number of Rohingya people from different camps in Teknaf roaming outside. The BGB has information that many of them are involved in various crimes committed outside the Rohingya camps."
