Dhaka, Nov. 30 -- Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Aminul Islam Bulbul has offered renewed hope for the women's Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), promising that the tournament would begin soon.

Aminul spoke about the matter in his welcome address at the ongoing men's BPL auction on Sunday.

The formal proceedings of the auction began around 4:30pm at a Dhaka hotel.

"You will be pleased to know that we will start the women's BPL very soon. Those of you here as franchise owners will also have the opportunity to field teams in the women's league alongside the men's," he said.
