Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- Six people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a young man in Fatullah, Narayanganj, police said.

The victim's wife, a Baul artiste, is among those detained.

Investigating officer Sub-Inspector Yasin Arafat of Fatulla Model Police Station said two of the arrestees, Mehedi, identified with a single name, and his brother-in-law Abdur Rahman gave confessional statements under Section 164 before a court on Wednesday.

Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Munshi said the killing was linked to the wife's "extramarital relationship".

They were arrested on Tuesday. Another fugitive named Md Mamun is involved in the incident, police said.
