Dhaka, June 28 -- Police have released Dipankar Das, owner of the renowned bookshop named Batighar, following his interrogation in connection with a case related to the Anti-discrimination Student Movement in Chattogram.

Dipankar was whisked away from Batighar's Chattogram store to Kotwali Police Station at 12:45pm and freed after questioning less than two hours later.

Station chief Abdul Karim told bdnews24.com, "There is a case against him. He was released after discussing the matter."

Dipankar told bdnews24.com, "I was at Batighar when police officers asked me to come to the station over the case. After the discussion, I was released around 2pm."
