Dhaka, Feb. 22 -- India has arrested eight people, including a Bangladeshi national, suspected of plotting a major terror conspiracy with alleged backing from Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Bangladesh-based extremist groups.

Six suspects, identified as Mizanur Rahman, Mohammed Shabat, Umar, Mohammed Litan, Mohammed Shahid and Mohammed Ujjal, were apprehended from garment factories in Tamil Nadu's Tiruppur, Indian broadcaster NDTV reports. Two others were detained in West Bengal.

The suspects are alleged to have been using forged Aadhaar cards for identification, sources said. Police recovered eight mobile phones and 16 SIM cards from their possession.
