Dhaka, Jan. 4 -- Bangladesh will not travel to India to play their matches in the T20 World Cup, with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) deciding to formally ask the International Cricket Council (ICC) to move the fixtures to Sri Lanka.
The decision was taken on Sunday during an emergency online meeting of the BCB directors.
Nazmul Abedeen, head of the board's cricket operations department, told bdnews24.com: "We do not want to say anything separately at this moment. A detailed press statement will be issued very soon."
Sports advisor Asif Nazrul confirmed the decision on social media at 3:20pm.
