Dhaka, April 20 -- Bangladesh have won the toss and chosen to bat in the first Test against Zimbabwe in Sylhet.

Under the leadership of captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, the Tigers are looking to erase the memory of bad performances on home soil last year.

The match started at 10am on Sunday.

Bangladesh has won seven of their past eight encounters against Zimbabwe. Their only loss was a 151-run disaster in Sylhet during the debut match on the ground.

The visiting team has been in a run of very poor form, unable to win a single match in the past four years - even losing against newcomers like Afghanistan and Ireland. Their performance will have to improve if they are to test the hosts.
