Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- Adil Khan denied Bangladesh a famous win at Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan stadium in Salt Lake on Tuesday after Saad Uddin put the visitors ahead in the first half of the Group E match.

Saad's header from captain Jamal Bhuyan's free-kick in the 41st minute silenced the partisan crowd in the stands.

Both sides missed a number of chances in the rest of the match.

Before Adil scored the 88th minute header from a corner, he saved a certain goal in the 73rd minute when the ball was going in after goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh came out of his line to make a fingertip save.

It is Bangladesh's first point in the second round of 2022 World Cup and 2023 Asian Cup after they had lost to Qatar and Afghanistan.
