Dhaka, Feb. 8 -- The government has sought the cooperation of the United Nations Human Rights Office to ensure a fair investigation and justice in the killing of Sharif Osman bin Hadi.
The Chief Advisor's Office (CAO) confirmed the development in a media statement issued on Sunday.
According to the statement, the Permanent Mission of Bangladesh in Geneva sent a formal note verbale to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights on Feb 6, following instructions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"The cooperation of the UN Human Rights Office has been sought to provide necessary technical and institutional support in the investigation into the murder," the statement said.
