Dhaka, March 2 -- Bangladesh's remittance inflow has maintained an upward trajectory as expatriates pumped over $2.5 billion back into the economy in February.

This marks a 17.13 percent increase from the same month last year, when inward remittances amounted to $2.16 billion.

According to Bangladesh Bank data, remittances have surpassed $2 billion for seven consecutive months.

In January, Bangladesh raked in $2.18 billion in remittances.

Data from the central bank also revealed that the total remittance inflow in the first eight months of the current fiscal year has risen by 23.85 percent, totalling $18.49 billion, up from $14.93 billion during the same period last year.
