Dhaka, Jan. 20 -- Bangladesh's revenue collection has risen by 14.19 percent in the first six months of the current fiscal year compared with the same period last year, but the National Board of Revenue (NBR) still fell short of its target by nearly Tk 460 billion.
Provisional figures released by the NBR on Tuesday show Tk 1.85 trillion was collected between July and December of FY2025‑26.
In the same period of FY2024‑25, revenue stood at Tk 1.62 trillion, when the economy was hit by political upheaval and uncertainty following the July Uprising and change of power.
Despite the strong growth, the NBR missed its six‑month target of Tk 2.31 trillion by Tk 459.76 billion.
