Dhaka, June 13 -- Two people have died from COVID-19 in Bangladesh in the past 24 hours, bringing the virus death toll this year to three, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The previous COVID-related death was reported on Jun 5.

One of the dead was aged between 21 and 30 from Dhaka Division, while the other, aged between 71 and 80, was from Chattogram Division.

Both were women--one died at a government hospital and the other at a private facility.

In its regular bulletin on Friday, the DGHS said 15 new cases were confirmed from 174 samples tested in the 24 hours leading up to Friday morning.

The positivity rate stood at 11.19 percent.
