Dhaka, Oct. 22 -- Another two patients have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, pushing the nationwide death toll this year to 255.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin released on Wednesday said the latest victims included one woman and one man.

They all died in Mugda Medical College Hospital and Khulna Medical College Hospital, aged 70 and 65.

In the same period, 762 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals, taking the total number of hospitalisations in 2025 to 62,367.

September saw the highest spike, with 15,866 admissions and 76 deaths. Between Oct 1 and Oct 22, hospitals admitted 15,025 patients, while 57 deaths were recorded.
