Dhaka, Feb. 24 -- Bangladesh Bank has revised the banking hours for the month of Ramadan.

According to the new schedule, transactions will take place from 9:30am to 2:30pm.

However, other bank operations will continue until 4:00pm.

The new timings were disclosed in a notification issued by the central bank on Monday.

Currently, banks operate from 10:00am to 6:00pm, with customers able to conduct transactions between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

After the end of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, banks will revert to their regular hours.

The interim government also adjusted office timings for the holy month.

As per the directive, government offices will operate from 9:00am to 3:30pm.

At present, government employees work from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
