Dhaka, Oct. 29 -- Two more people have died of dengue fever in Bangladesh while 964 others have been admitted to hospitals in the past 24 hours.

With the latest fatalities, the Aedes mosquito-borne disease has claimed 275 lives this year and the tally of hospital admissions rose to 68,428.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Wednesday, the latest deaths occurred in Mugda Medical College Hospital and Kurmitola General Hospital.

In October alone, 77 people died of dengue, marking the highest death toll in 2025, followed by the second-highest monthly toll of 76 fatalities recorded in September.
