Dhaka, Dec. 3 -- Bangladesh has reported 490 hospitalisations from dengue fever in the past 24 hours, bringing the total this year to 96,067.
The Aedes mosquito-borne illness has claimed five lives in the same period.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) bulletin on Wednesday, one of the dead resided in Dhaka North City Corporation, and two each in Dhaka South City Corporation and Mymensingh Division.
The death toll in December has now ticked up to nine, while the caseload has increased by 1,665.
The disease has claimed 391 lives this year.
