Dhaka, Oct. 27 -- Bangladesh has nationalised 13 schools in 2025, bringing the total number of government schools in the country to 693.
Among the latest is JJI Junior Secondary School in Jashore's Abhayanagar, which was officially declared a government institution on Monday.
The Ministry of Education's Secondary and Higher Education Division issued a gazette notification for JJI Junior, saying the school's teachers and staff will be regularised under existing regulations, and their appointments will not be transferable.
Earlier, on Sept 16, the ministry nationalised Shologhar Akshay Kumar Shashi Kumar High School in Sreenagar, Munshiganj, under the same conditions.
