Dhaka, March 3 -- Consumers will now pay less for liquefied petroleum gas, or LPG, as the price of a 12kg cylinder, widely used for cooking, has been reduced by Tk 28 to Tk 1,450.

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission Chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the revised prices on Monday. The new rates will take effect from 6pm on the same day.

For March, autogas prices at the consumer level have also been lowered to Tk 66.43 per litre, a Tk 1.31 decrease from last month.

Previously, on Feb 2, the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder was increased by Tk 19, setting it at Tk 1,478, while the retail price of autogas was fixed at Tk 67.74 per litre.
