Dhaka, Oct. 1 -- A well-marked low over the west-central Bay of Bengal is set to trigger a spell of heavy to very heavy rain across Bangladesh.
Alongside the downpours, gusty wind is expected to sweep across the maritime ports, north Bay and adjoining coastal areas, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) warned on Wednesday.
Consequently, the maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No. 3.
All fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to stay near the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.
Heavy rainfall has lashed parts of Bangladesh since Tuesday midnight.
