Dhaka, Jan. 5 -- Bangladesh's inflation rate rose further in December, driven by sharp increases in food prices and continued cost pressures in non-food items.
Overall point-to-point inflation climbed to 8.49 percent last month, up from 8.29 percent in November and 8.17 percent in October, according to figures released on Monday by the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS).
The data indicate that inflation rose by 32 basis points over the past two months, adding to the strain on households, particularly those on fixed or low incomes.
The latest figure means that goods and services that cost Tk 100 a year earlier cost Tk 108.49 in December 2025.
