Dhaka, Feb. 3 -- Despite negative trends in most economic indicators, remittance inflows have once again brought positive news.
In the first seven months of the current fiscal year, expatriates have sent $15.96 billion to Bangladesh, marking a 23.60 percent increase compared with the same period in the previous fiscal year.
Between July 2023 and January 2024, Bangladesh received $ 12.91 billion in remittances.
Bangladesh Bank spokesperson and Executive Director Husne Ara Shikha told bdnews24.com that in January 2024, remittance inflows reached $2.18 billion, which was $ 2.11 billion in January 2023.
This marks the sixth consecutive month that remittance inflows have exceeded $2 billion.
