Dhaka, Dec. 13 -- Bangladesh has condemned the recent airstrike on a hospital in Myanmar's western Rakhine state, killing at least 30 people and injuring scores of others.

A foreign ministry statement issued on Saturday also expressed concern with the recent increase of violations of international humanitarian law and violence in the state.

Bangladesh also conveyed condolences to the families of the dead and sympathy for those affected.

"Bangladesh underscores the importance of protecting civilians and civilian facilities without distinctions, and emphasises that all communities, including Rohingya and Rakhine, should be spared from violence," the statement said.
