Dhaka, Oct. 4 -- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has flagged the possibility of up to three low-pressure systems forming in the Bay of Bengal in October, one of which may intensify into a depression or a cyclone.

Last month saw the development of three low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal, one of which developed into a depression.
The BMD said normal rainfall is expected across the country in October. However, it warned that there may be two to four days of moderate to heavy thundershowers, and three to five days of light to moderate thundershowers.
