A notification issued on Monday by the central bank's Foreign Exchange Policy Department announced that individuals may now take up to $15,000 per trip for overseas medical treatment.

Previously, the maximum amount permitted was $10,000.

Following the new limit, travellers may carry up to $5,000 in cash, while the remaining amount may be used via credit, debit, or prepaid cards, as per Bangladesh Bank's updated policy.
