Bangladesh, Sept. 26 -- Electoral Reform Commission chief Badiul Alam Majumdar has expressed hope that 100 seats will be reserved for women in the next parliament under a rotation system, calling it a "good" approach.

At a roundtable held on Thursday in Dhaka, he highlighted that despite efforts, women face barriers preventing them from securing representative positions.

Badiul said: "Women are not our burden. We must invest in them. We want to increase women's seats. There will be 100 seats for women and this will be on a rotation basis."

The roundtable, titled "Inclusive Politics: The Journey of Women and Youth Leadership", was held at the BIISS auditorium in Eskaton and organised by the Centre for Governance Studies (CGS).
