Dhaka, May 9 -- NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah has announced a mass gathering in front of the State Guest House Jamuna, the official residence of Chief Advisor Muhammad Yunus, to demand a ban on the Awami League.

He called on everyone, regardless of party or opinions, to gather for the event after the Friday Jummah prayers in front of the fountain on the east side of Jamuna.

A group of protesters led by Hasnat gathered in front of the residence at 10pm on Thursday. Jamaat-e-Islami, AB Party, Islami Chhatra Shibir, Anti-discrimination Student Movement, and leaders and activists of various student organisations have expressed solidarity with the protest.
