Bangladesh, Sept. 23 -- BNP and National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders who accompanied Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to the UN General Assembly session in New York have been harassed by Awami League supporters at the airport.

The protesters confronted them as they left the John F Kennedy International Airport on Monday, chanting anti-Yunus slogans and verbally abusing them. Akhter Hossen, member secretary of the NCP, was also pelted with eggs.

The Emirates flight carrying the chief adviser and his delegation landed shortly after 3pm local time on Monday.
