Dhaka, Dec. 24 -- Attorney General Md Asaduzzaman has shared his willingness to step down from the top legal officer rank of the state to contest in the general elections.

On Wednesday, he told the media he had sought the nomination already.

"I'm still holding the post of attorney general. I'll step down to contest in the election."

He said he would resign "in due time".

Earlier on Nov 5, the attorney general had signalled his intent to run in the elections. He shared that he wanted to run from Jhenaidah-1 (Shailkupa) seat with the Paddy Sheaf symbol.
