Dhaka, May 5 -- As many as 100 unidentified people have been accused in a criminal case started over the attack on the convoy of Hasnat Abdullah, chief organiser of the National Citizen Party's (NCP) southern unit, in Gazipur.

Bason Police Station chief Shaheen Khan said NCP Sadar Convenor Khandaker Al Amin had initiated the case as the plaintiff on Monday.

He said many unidentified individuals were accused in the case. As many as 54 people detained in the case since the incident have been sent to jail custody through the court in the evening.

Hasnat's car was attacked near Chandna intersection in Gazipur on Sunday evening, police said.
