Dhaka, March 9 -- A grocery store owner has suffered serious injuries after he was attacked in his shop in Dhaka's Shahjahanpur by a group of assailants, who slit the veins in both wrists and left him for dead.
The attack occurred around 6m on Sunday, just after Ruhul Amin opened his store on the ground floor of a building in Shantibagh. The attackers stormed in and blindfolded him before repeatedly stabbing him.
Inspector Md Faruq from the police outpost at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, or DMCH, said that Ruhul Amin was rushed to the hospital in critical condition around 8am.
"The 55-year-old trader is currently undergoing treatment in the emergency department. His condition remains serious."
