Dhaka, Dec. 12 -- Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, a former advisor to the interim government, has announced that he will contest the upcoming 13th national election as an independent candidate from the Dhaka-10 constituency.

He made the announcement in a video posted on his Facebook page on Friday, a day after the election schedule was declared.

"I will contest as an independent candidate in the Dhaka-10 constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election. Your cooperation and support is needed," he wrote in a caption accompanying the video post.
